Noteworthy news today (24/10/2023):
1️⃣ The "Big 4" accounting firm EY announced that trillions of dollars from institutional funds are waiting to invest in Bitcoin once the Bitcoin spot ETF is approved. EY believes that people buy Bitcoin as an asset, not using BTC as a payment method, unlike Ethereum, where many purchase ETH as a computing platform for business transactions and Defi trades.
2️⃣ iShares Bitcoin Trust (by BlackRock) has been listed on the DTCC (Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation). This entity is responsible for settling transactions on the NASDAQ stock exchange.
The ticker will be IBTC once BlackRock's ETF proposal is approved.
This is part of the ETF listing process, and it doesn't mean it has been approved yet. However, it's also good news.
3️⃣ Bitcoin (BTC) surpassed $35,000 on Monday, reaching its highest price since May 2022, as the cryptocurrency market continued its upward trend in October amid optimism that a BTC ETF will be approved in the United States.
